Design Philosophy
To modernize the Konka Smart TV experience, we focused on three pillars: Clarity, Expansibility, and Guidance. As features like AI recognition and Dolby Audio were added, the system needed a scalable structure that wouldn't overwhelm the user.
Iterative Evolution
- YIUI 5.0: The starting point—a traditional grid that struggled with feature bloat.
- YIUI 6.0: Transitioned to a Floating Layer, allowing users to adjust settings without interrupting their viewing experience.
- YIUI 7.0: Introduced a sophisticated Hierarchical Menu. This version utilizes semi-transparent stacking and real-time visual feedback, ensuring users never lose their place within the Information Architecture.

Research-Driven Architecture
We conducted extensive Card Sorting exercises with 15 representative users to reorganize 52 existing setting items. By analyzing the probability of how users grouped these items, we built a navigation system that aligns with natural mental models rather than technical constraints.
